- Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 (pictured), is the last game in the Mario Kart series to use the original logo (in the game title).
- According to his trophy description in the Japanese version of Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario is stated to be "26 years old".
- In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, if Mario sleeps in the Inns 50 times, a Cameraman Lakitu will appear, congratulate, and give Mario 200 coins.
- In the beta version of Super Mario Galaxy, Toads appear with star spots instead of circle spots on their mushroom caps.
- Bowser Jr. is the only one of Bowser's children who is not named after a real person, but rather, a fictional character.
