The Super Scope is, when seen in-game, a type of gun, and, in the Real World, a peripheral for the SNES. The weapon was used in the game Yoshi's Safari, which also used the actual Super Scope peripheral; they also cameo as an in-game item used by Sniper Bills in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
It is featured as an item in Super Smash Bros. Melee. A player can shoot energy balls at opponents, either in dozens of small bullets or three huge charged up shots. When a player repeatedly shoots small blasts in a line, the opponent will be unable to move away when hit. The devo-guns from the Super Mario Bros. movie are also quite obviously designed after Super Scopes.
