Verbal Assault is a Mario Party 6 1 vs 3 mic minigame. Each member of the team controls a small walker with a rapid-fire cannon and two large shields on their front. They run down the road in pursuit of the lone player, who is given control of a massive battleship.

By speaking certain phrases into the microphone, the single player can perform different attacks to try and hit the team. The other three players must avoid the battleship's attack while returning fire with their walkers' cannons. Each of the small walkers can take three hits-with a brief period of invincibility after taking damage-while the battleship requires hundreds of shots before falling. The players can gauge how much damage they have done by looking at the six green crystals near the battleship's cockpit; as the machine takes damage, they fade to red and fall off. The game ends when one side eliminates the other.

In reality, verbal assaults involve someone attacking another person using harsh language or hurtful words.
