Apparently it's "Mario's head" because he's dreaming of it. Though that's of course a bit strange. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:34, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

Has anyone else thought about Subcon's meaning? I thought that, if Mario's journey was a dream, then the world of Subcon might actually be short for Subconscious. Does anyone else think that too? Arceus79 22:57, 24 March 2012 (EDT)
