Hollijolli Village

Template:Location-infobox Hollijolli Village is a snow-covered town found in the Mushroom Kingdom in the game Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. The Hollijolli Mayor is the leader of the village.

During the Shroob invasion of the Mushroom Kingdom, Hollijolli Village is one of the first regions to be conquered by the extraterrestrial invaders. A massive Shroob fleet attacked the peaceful village, blasting houses and abducting Toads, bringing the peaceful fungi to the Toadwood Forest so their vim could be extracted. Not even the mayor escaped abduction.

Hollijolli Village is the first area Mario and Luigi visit when they go back in time to the Mushroom Kingdom of the past. Once they reach the town, Mario and Luigi start investigating and they eventually find the major of the town, who is the only habitant of the village that survived the Shroob attack, by hiding in a chimney. Mario and Luigi then free him, but he immediately gets kidnapped by the Shroobs and Mario and Luigi get knocked unconscious by them. Eventually, the plumbers were saved by Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, their younger selves. The village can later be returned to via time hole. Template:PitMKmap

Trivia

• The name "Hollijolli Village" comes from the song "A Holly Jolly Christmas", in keeping with the area's Christmas theme.
• The background music of Hollijolli Village is a creepy rendition of "Jingle Bells".
• In some versions of the game, the game freezes when the player attempts to go in a certain part of Hollijolli Village or use the portal to return there.
• Oddly, outside the time hole to Hollijolli Village, a Toad lies near-unconscious, muttering about having been attacked by a huge monster through the time hole. Strangely, no such monster can be found in the village, even upon returning.
• Strangely, even after the game has been completed, no repairs to the village are ever seen, nor any signs of the villagers' return.
