Cheepy is a small, pink-colored Birdo wearing a scarf and a character from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "The Bird! The Bird! / Neatness Counts".
It is revealed in the episode that Cheepy's mother had lost him and was frantically searching for him, even employing the Missing Bird Bureau to aid her. Eventually though, Cheepy's mother, being extremely near-sighted, mistakes Toad for Cheepy.
Eventually, the real Cheepy is found to be frozen in a block of ice by Mario, Luigi and Princess Toadstool. Freeing Cheepy using his fireballs as Super Mario, Mario, Luigi and Princess Toadstool surmize that the Birdo that they just freed is the missing child of the Birdo that took Toad.
Eventually, Cheepy is returned to his mother by Toad who, after being dropped from the sky during a botched flying lesson from Cheepy's mother, landed in the campsite of Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Cheepy.
Later on, after King Koopa and his followers are defeated, Cheepy and his mother invite Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Toad to their home for lunch; though this lunch turns out to be large, talking worms.
