Template:Minigame-infobox Penny Pinchers is a 1 vs. 3 minigame in Mario Party DS. The single player must collect coins that come from a treasure chest and avoid beads. If a coin falls down into the bottom screen, the other 3 players must touch the coin with the stylus to collect it. At the end of the minigame, the player wins all the coins s/he or his or her team has collected.
Controls
Single Player:
– Move
– Jump
Team Players:
– Tap to extend grabber
Rules
Single Player: The player needs to grab the coins that spill from the chest, but needs to stay away from getting hit by beads. Red coins are worth five times as much as the normal ones.
Team Players: The player needs to use his/her grabber to get the coins that slip past his/her opponent on the top screen. Red coins are still worth five times as much as the normal ones.
Tips
Single Player: The player will be stunned when hit by a bead, so the player needs to be careful of this while running for coins.
Team Players:
The player should divide up the lower-screen area with the player's teammates so he/she doesn't let any coins slip by the him/her.
