A stump pipe in Forest Maze.

Forest Maze is a labyrinth of trees and underground passages found in the game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It includes some underground caverns accessed by traveling down tree stumps as well as some regular forested areas, but the main part is a maze infested with unlimited enemies. Mario is obligated to follow Geno through it in order to find and defeat Bowyer. The Forest Maze was his base of operations. The Mushroom Boy of Seaside Town asks Mario to retrieve Mushrooms from the forest, and will offer Mario a prize if the plumber returns a rare Mushroom.

Music

The music of the Forest Maze is famous among players of the game, and was chosen as track four in the Arranged Version of the Super Mario RPG soundtrack. Only five tracks were included. In the music, many birds may be heard chirping. On both soundtracks, the music was titled, "Beware the Forest's Mushrooms!"

Hackers were able to find pointers to a removed song in the data of Super Smash Bros. Brawl[1]. The song was referenced as "snd_bgm_A12_MORINOKINOKO" (Mori no Kinoko, or "Mushroom Forest"), which may be a reference to this music. If so, it was most likely removed due to copyright issues with Square-Enix.

A few notes of the track can be heard in the Toad Town and Peach's Castle themes in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Being that Yoko Shimomura is responsible both for Super Mario RPG's music and the music in the Mario & Luigi series music, it is possible that this is intentional.

There also is a fan made song called "Super Mario RPG Forest Theme Rawest" it has lyrics and is known to pretty much every fan!
