Template:Notforumtalk Template:Award-winner Shouldn't we merge this article with Super Mario 64? It's simply a remake w/ some newly created challenges, more characters and a slightly different storyline. The powers and levels are still the same, with improved graphics. Wayoshi 20:57, 3 July 2006 (EDT)
- I'm not sure. There are enough chages to Super Mario 64 DS its own article. More playable characters, more levels, more stars, different power-ups, including the Power Flower. It's much more than a simple remake. However, the two pages should be linked together. --Son of Suns 02:03, 5 July 2006 (EDT)
Canon?
Is this really a canon game, or a Spinoff? I mean even Bowser's not stupid enough to try the same thing two times! (oh wait, he did in NSMB, sorry)
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Maxlover2 (talk).
Also, the Japaense Super Mario Bros. 2 (Lost Levels for us) was nearly identical to his plan in the first. So yes, it's feasible that he'd repeat his original plan. ChrisAlassal 03:02, 4 March 2007 (EST)
Man, Bowser needs better ideas. I mean, if it failed once, it will again.
Bowsers plan is the same every game,TO CRUSH MARIO!!!!!! Even in multiplayer, its always MARIO! Get a life, man. -Rosalina1234
Remake
This isn't a remake. It has new characters, new levels, and a slightly different plot. True, Super Mario Advance 3 had extra levels, but remakes don't include new plots. That isn't saying since Super Mario Advance 3 has extra levels, it should be two different games. It's saying that there are too many differences between 64 and 64 DS.
- They are two different games, but SM64 DS is still a remake of SM64. -- Son of Suns
But how?
- Using the same title and the same base environs. -- Son of Suns
Since this is a remake, how come I keep seeing it referred to in this Wiki as either non-canonical or a separate incident from Super Mario 64? I must admit, I am confused... Dinosaur bob 13:54, 1 July 2007 (EDT)
Isn't this an FA
- I don't know, but it sure looks like it should be. Talk
- WarioLoaf and I rewrote it; WL did the code and I wrote an entire walkthrough. It got nominated; didn't make it. 3D, SIGH... admire my handiwork!
Mini-game instructions
Are the in-game instructions for the mini-games identical to those in New Super Mario Bros.? I only have the latter and would like to add the instructions to the articles. Time Questions 15:17, 3 January 2008 (EST)
- No one here who has both games and can compare the instructions? Time Questions 07:32, 22 January 2008 (EST)
Wario isn't Luigi!!!
In the secret level where it says you need Wario in Luigi and Mario caps... There is no Luigi cap on the map!!! Where is it??? - Shadow Yoshi
Waluigi PROVEN Not To Be In The Game?
How?
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mr L (talk).
- Well if you play the game, you'd know that. He isn't even in the game's coding Goomb-omb 14:06, 19 June 2008 (EDT)
There are many theories proving that waluigi is in the game, but none are true. Ive tried most, and they all failed. Plus, there are no videos proving any of the theories work. -Rosalina1234
Mystery plumber?
waluigi by any chance?I thought he wasn't in the game. Bob-omb buddy
Hes not. -Rosalina1234
Is this Fake?
I found this picture, and I think it is fake.Image:FakeWaluigi.jpg
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lewa159 (talk).
YES, it is fake. It's been specificly stated ti be fake. And, people have torn the game apart, ripped up the ROM, and found nothing of Waluigi. And, sign comments plorx.GreenKoopa - Comments or questions?
Silent Door
What is behind the final door in the character selection room? The one that says "All is quiet on the other side"?

A star, I think. And sign your comments with ~~~~.GreenKoopa - Comments or questions?

Catch the all the sparkly rabbits. And, use GameFAQS. This wiki is not a game guide.GreenKoopa - Comments or questions?
Really? When I go into it, I just hear a boo's laugh and character I was playing as run out like they see a ghost (yes, a pun). Bowser-omb 13:45, 3 November 2009 (EST)
Do it as Mario and you got a star. Or at least, I did with Mario. Smileymiley5001
I think you can do it with any character, and if you already got the star, you can walk in again and hear boos laughing. -Rosalina1234
Problem
Some code at the end of the page seems to not end, and seems to keep the templates towards the middle and some other things. If I'm correct, it seems to be coming from the differences section towards the bottom of the page. May somebody fix this, as I don't know how, please? --Palkia47 21:11, 28 July 2008 (EDT)
Sequel
I think SM64DS is a remake AND a sequel (or at least, a aprt of the Super Mario 2D/3D series). Why ? Koopa the Quick says to Mario "Long time no see, Mario !" (or at least, in the French evrsion), which means that he already did a race against Mario. But in Super Mario 64, he didn't knew Mario before and when he heard that the plumber beaten the Big Bob-Omb, Koopa the Quick wanted to do a race againast Mario. That's why I think this article must be a part of the template "Super Mario 2D" or "Super Mario 3D" (it have 2D graphics and 3D gameplay).

Rec Room
I added that some of the games are from NSMB I wonder wwhy no one else did that.ratfink43
- 'cause the NSMB games are from SM64DS, not the other way round. Time Questions 14:29, 30 July 2009 (EDT)
Glitch?
I've found a glitch(or somthing) with my copy of the game. You see, every time I save my game it saves the number of power stars I have but not the number of lives. Dose this happen on every copy of the game? And if it IS a glitch, how do I fix it? Bowser-omb 09:13, 1 November 2009 (EST)
It never has saved the number of lives you have, so don't worry (: You'll start with 5 lives every time. Fawfulfury65
- Yes the lives are not saved. It doesn't matter anyway, as a Game Over is not worse than losing a life. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:20, 1 November 2009 (EST)
- I always start on 4. Thanks anyway.Bowser-omb 13:38, 3 November 2009 (EST)
Multiple Endings
Within the past two weeks, I decided to attempt to beat Super Mario 64 DS without rescuing Wario and Luigi. In the latter case, Wario also would not be saved. This article is untrue in that a player does not need to save all the characters to battle the final Bowser upon obtaining 80 Power Stars. In addition, not saving characters creates two alternate endings to the game. The first shows Mario, Luigi and Yoshi with Peach and all appearing as figures on the cake. The second shows just Mario and Yoshi meeting Princess Peach and only the three of them appear upon the "Thank You" cake.
1.
You can have all the characters saved and on top of the cake,or just yoshi and mario. Either way,you have to finish the game with yoshi and mario. -Rosalina1234
Find a way to incorporate that into the article.--Knife (talk) 04:49, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
