It is generally used to access one's computer files via operative syntax programming. MS-DOS was popular in the 1980's, acting as a primary operating system for businesses and personal computers. MS-DOS also has the ability to run programs.
The only Mario games specifically developed for and playable via MS-DOS are the original releases of Super Mario Bros. & Friends: When I Grow Up, Mario is Missing!, Super Mario Bros. Print World and Mario Teaches Typing, all edutainment games.
