The Hocotate Ship is Captain Olimar's space ship from Pikmin 2. It has a few roles in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Most importantly, it is in Captain Olimar's Final Smash, End of Day. Captain Olimar jumps into the ship to initiate this Final Smash. Also, for his entrance in Brawl matches, Olimar jumps out of the ship. It also has a role in the Subspace Emissary. When Bowser's and Ganondorf's cannon destroys the Halberd, Olimar in the Hocotate Ship comes out, damaging the cannon. The Hocotate Ship can also be seen at the background of the beginning of Outside the Ancient Ruins. The ship appears as a trophy in the Trophy Gallery.

Trophy Description in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

A battered old spaceship used when Hocotate Freight first opened. Its appraisal gauge analyzed garbage Olimar brought home and found it to be valuable. With his new ship sold off to pay company debts, Louie and Olimar flew this one back to the Pikmin world to find more treasure. The ship's removable research pod accompanied the adventurers when they ventured underground.

Trivia

  • Even though it's never explicitly referred to as such in Pikmin 2 itself, Brawl names the ship the "Hocotate Ship" in its trophy description.
  • A spaceship that resembles Olimar's ship from Pikmin 2 appears in Super Mario Galaxy in the Space Junk Galaxy.
  • In the 2010 version of Nintendo Monopoly, one of the tokens is the Hocotate Ship. Oddly, the back of the game box refers to it as "Pikmin's Ship".
