Sassy Squatch is found in the level Sassy Squatch's Lair, located in the Ice World. Due to the fact that Sassy is completely covered in an armor of ice it was all but impenetrable to Donkey Kong's attacks. - The name "Sassy Squatch" is a pun on "Sasquatch", a less used name for the legendary monster Bigfoot.
- Sassy Squatch is not the first yeti to appear in the Donkey Kong Universe; a recurring character named Eddie the Mean Old Yeti on the Donkey Kong Country animated series was. Despite being the same species, Eddie and Sassy look extremely different.
