The Purple Coin Ball is a ball with a Purple Coin inside it, hence the name, in Super Mario Galaxy 2. It is similar in appearance to a Star Ball, however the Star Ball is golden colored, to correspond with the Power Star's color, on the interior as opposed to the violet colored interior inside a Purple Coin Ball. Despite the two major differences in the balls, their behavior is the same: they both will shatter when they make it to the goal. The control scheme is also no different from the Star Ball. | The Purple Coin Ball is a ball with a Purple Coin inside it, hence the name, in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
