Dune Buds are plants found on Gelato Beach in the game Super Mario Sunshine. Initially appearing as a purple bud, spraying them with water causes them to grow up and turn orange before causing a sand dune to pop up on the beach for a short time. This can damage Cataquacks and the giant green Wiggler boss.
Several Dune Buds can form pits that hide Gold Coins, Red Coins, Blue Coins, or even Shine Sprites.
