Template:Galaxybox The Sand Spiral Galaxy is a galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. This galaxy is a large barrel with a rapid sand river. This galaxy has many Boos, and Bats. When the player start out, He/she appear to be on some kind of airship that appears crashed.

How to unlock

To unlock this galaxy, Mario must beat the level Faster Than a Speeding Penguin in the Sea Slide Galaxy, as well as Luigi and the Haunted Mansion in the Ghostly Galaxy -- this is because that star is supposed to "introduce" the Boo Mushroom. Once Mario does so, a Hungry Luma will appear, Mario will have to feed the Hungry Luma, and the way to the Sand Spiral Galaxy is revealed.

Planets/Areas

Crashed Airship

This is just the front half of an airship that seemingly crashed into something or was blasted. Mario starts out here and continues to the sand planet. It is more likely that it was blasted by some sort of weapon due to the scattered debris floating nearby and the fact that the division where the two halves would meet is made up of jagged, protruding chunks of deck, wood, and some individual wooden beams that would support or make up the decks.

Sand Planet

This is a large pipe-like planet that is filled with sand. Mario must navigate through the obstacles and avoid falling into the sand by either using the bee mushroom or the boo mushroom.

Moon and Spiral Rock

This is a small moon with a large spiraling rock spinning around it. Mario must cross this rock while avoiding mines to reach the moon where the power star is.

The goal in the level is to get through a tunnel filled with quicksand. The player starts at a broken airship, and, after the Magikoopa on board it warps ahead to the tunnel itself, Mario can take a Sling Star over to the main area. Here he has the choice of becoming Boo Mario or Bee Mario. Boo Mario can float infinitely over the quicksand but must watch out for the Boos and the spotlights. Bee Mario will have an easier time avoiding the enemies, but cannot fly infinitely and must make landings on certain sections also the Boos will go after Bee Mario quicker. The Magikoopa will appear and shoot spells throughout the tunnel unless it is defeated.

Once Mario exits the tunnel, he will be launched out the other end of the tunnel to a small area, where can get a Rainbow Star to become invincible and jump across rotating platforms to the moon in the center, where the Power Star awaits. If Mario still has the bee suit, he can simply fly to the power star.

The Magikoopa in the beginning of the level will pursue Mario for most of the stage unless Mario obtains the boo suit or if it is defeated. If Mario obtains the Boo Suit it will not appear after attacking at the start of the level.
