The only difference that really stands out is that Kootie Pie's bow is more pointy and has two fangs sticking out of her mouth. Her voice was that of Paulina Gillis.

Other than Lemmy, Wendy is the only Koopaling to appear in her own story in the comic books; in "Fins and Roses" she is setting up a trap for Mario when she attracts the attention of Stanley the Talking Fish.

Wendy is one of the first Nintendo characters to distinguish herself as female by wearing a bow on her hairless head, and the first to do so in a game; other female characters who wear a bow include Birdo, who wears a similar bow on her head, Lady Bow from Paper Mario, who wears a smaller bow on each side of her head, and Candy Kong, who wears a bow in Donkey Kong Country, but not in any other games. Although Birdo appeared first, she only wore her bow in promotional materials, and didn't appear with a bow in a video game until Super Mario Bros. 2 was remade for the SNES compilation Super Mario All-Stars.

She is named after late female punk singer, Wendy O. Williams.

Wendy O. Koopa is Bowser’s only daughter and, as such, the only female Koopaling. Although she wears a big pink bow, she is as dangerous as her brothers (if not more dangerous). In Super Mario Bros. 3, Wendy occupies the kingdom of Sea Side, an island world, and is the third boss of the game. When Mario challenges Wendy, she attacks by throwing deadly candy bracelets at the hero.

In Super Mario World, Wendy gets a promotion, and becomes the sixth boss of the game. In this game, she controlsChocolate Island. When Mario attacks her castle, he has to fight both the real Wendy and two Wendy dummies used to trick the plumber.

Wendy O. Koopa also appears as a minor character in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Wendy, and the six other original Koopalings, are in Bowser’s Castle when Bowletta orders the massive vessel to attack the Beanbean Kingdom. Thinking Bowletta is actually Bowser, the Koopalings agree to aid in the invasion by guarding the castle. When Mario fights Wendy, he must dodge her candy bracelets for a second time.

In the Super Mario cartoons, Wendy’s name was changed to Kootie Pie Koopa. She was supposedly sixteen years old and constantly whines about everything; as such, some of Bowser’s schemes were created to appease his only daughter. Physically, Kootie Pie looks very similar to Wendy. The major differences are that Kootie Pie’s bow is pointy and she has two fangs sticking out of her mouth. Kootie Pie also has a small bow on her tail.

Wendy also appears in the Mario comics, in the story “Fins and Roses”. In the comic, Wendy is setting a trap when Stanley the Talking Fish appears. Stanley starts to hit on Wendy, and receives one of her bombs, thinking it is a gift. In fact, Wendy wanted to destroy Stanley “to make the world a better place”. Ultimately, Wendy does not destroy Mario or Stanley. However, Mario and Wendy call a truce so they can say mean things about Stanley.

Wendy O. Koopa is also a major character in the Super Mario Adventure comics created by Nintendo Power. In fact, Wendy has a larger role in the story than all of her brothers, and even has her own tower (the only Koopaling with a fortress in the comics). During the events of the comics, Peach gets kidnapped and is held in Wendy’s tower. Wendy and Peach constantly match wits, forming a rivalry. In the end, Peach escapes by threatening to destroy Wendy’s favorite dress. Ultimately, Wendy’s tower gets blown up by Mario and Peach (albeit accidentally).

Wendy O. Koopa’s name comes from Wendy O. Williams, the lead singer from the punk band the Plasmatics.
