Template:Galaxybox Hightail Falls Galaxy is a galaxy that appears in Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Wii. The bulk of the galaxy accommodates the use of the Dash Pepper, which allows Yoshi to scale walls and steep slopes. The background in the galaxy features high waterfalls and rocks. Additionally, the music heard in the galaxy is an orchestrated arrangement of the "Athletic" theme from Super Mario World. The music goes fast when the Dash Pepper is used.

Planets

Starting Planet

This planet has two Whittles, Luigi, a Yoshi Egg, and the Dash Pepper.

Giant Ramp Planet

Mario and Yoshi on the Giant Ramp Planet.

This huge ramp is home to a couple Winged Goombas, and a large amount of Coins. The ramp is split into two halves: if Mario takes the left side up, he'll find Penguru and a 1-Up Mushroom at the top. The right side is shorter in length and easier to navigate, and ends with a Launch Star. A wavy path of coins spirals up the right side of the ramp, as well.

Falling Platforms Planet

The Launch Star from the Giant Ramp Planet shoots link to this one, where Yoshi must incorporate the Dash Pepper's speed capabilities to race across the floating, sinking platforms of this planet. Two different types of platforms exist here: solid, unmoving blocks, and grey, touch-sensitive plates. The latter will fall after a short time after Mario and Yoshi have stepped upon them. Few coins litter the course, located only upon the touch-sensitive platforms.

Double Slope, Left Turn Slope, U-Turn Slope

These three planets test Yoshi's ability to run with the Dash Pepper across vertical inclines. In essence, these planets begin with a quarter-pipe slope that helps Yoshi adapt to the oncoming vertical wall face, on which he sprints to its end, another half-pipe. Only the last planet, the U-Turn, has one quarter-pipe; this is the end of the course, and though littered with polygonal obstacles, it is where Mario finds the first Power Star of the galaxy. The vertical wall faces are stacked with obstacles other than polygonal blocks including moving platforms, tall pikes, and narrow paths. The Comet Medal for this galaxy is located near the top of the vertical wall face on the Left Turn planet, and a Hungry Luma dances about at it's base.

Grassy Planet

After feeding the Hungry Luma 30 coins, it will transform into this planet, off in the distance. The player must find all 5 Silver Stars that the Kleptoads, the only inhabitants of the planet, are carrying. After rescuing all 5, a Power Star will appear.

Hot-Stepping Dash Pepper

When Mario arrives on this planet, he has to get Yoshi out of the Yoshi Egg. Then, guide him to the Dash Pepper so he can cross the slope and use the Launch Star located at the end of it. After using it, he'll get to a slope planet. Mario and Yoshi have to do the same thing here: get the Dash Pepper to cross the slope. The Launch Star is located on a platform to the right.

After the Launch Star blasts off the two heroes, they'll get to a planet with black falling platforms. To get across, Yoshi has to eat a Dash Pepper again. The Launch Star can be found at the end of the level.

After using it, Mario and Yoshi will get to the planet with the Power Star on it. Mario, has to use Dash Yoshi to cross the slopes and the ramps found in this planet, and then use Yoshi's tongue to reach the daisies found in bubbles. After using the Dash Pepper again, Yoshi has to make his way to the Power Star by walking on walls.

Hightail Falls Speed Run

This mission is the same as the first one, only there is a time limit of three minutes. Mario and Yoshi have to get the Power Star within three minutes. It's also more difficult as meteors fall and the platforms are partially destroyed.

Silver Stars in Hightail Falls

To get the Power Star, Mario has to do the same thing he did in the first one. Except, he has to feed the Hungry Luma found in the Vertical Wall Planet 30 Coins. It'll then transform into a grassy planet, leaving a Launch Star behind. Mario has to take the Launch Star to get to the new planet. Here, he has to get all the Silver Stars from the five enemies. If he manages to collect all of them, they'll turn into a Power Star.

Green Star 1

The first Green Star is located on the Giant Ramp Planet right at the top near Penguru. In order for the player to reach the top, they must guide Mario and Yoshi to the first Dash Pepper and to stay to the far left. This path is challenging since many purple blocks can make Yoshi fall back to the ground. After passing the blocks they must run Yoshi over the second Dash Pepper to continue his way up to the top. If done correctly, the player should have reached the top, and now all they have to do is make Mario jump from under the star to obtain it.

Green Star 2

Green Star 2 is located in the air to the right of the Comet Medal. To reach it, Mario or Luigi and Yoshi must get on top of the purple block by carefully jumping near it and Flutter Jumping to it. Then they must jump to the star.

Green Star 3

Green Star 3 is located to the right of the flower grapples. Yoshi can use the flower grapples and Flutter Jump to reach the star.
