After the failure of Mario's Picross in america, a sequel was released only in Japan. The game played much the same way as the first, except Wario made a cameo.

| The game was an odd [[Mario]] game, pretty much having nothing to do with Mario in some ways. It was an odd puzzle game in which the player would play with a chisel and rock hammer to uncover numbers in a number game. Without the title screen and level selection screen, one could believe that this wasn't even a Mario game.

| One of the neat things about the game were its interesting graphics in the File Selection Screen and the title screen. The File Selection Screen had a background with a building having Mario's face on it, and a green hill with a dotted "M." The title screen was nice quality graphics with a winking, odd-styled abstract Mario made of little squares.

| Some have compared the game's unique graphic style to that of the upcoming ''[[Super Paper Mario]]''.
