Payback is a status effect in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It is symbolized by a rebounding Purple Arrow on a purple background: File:Returnpostage.gif
This is also the symbol of the Return Postage badge. When the character is inflicted, all direct attackers will receive half the damage they deal, rounded down. There is only one way that Mario can get this: by using a Spite Pouch. Wearing the Return Postage badge does "send back damage", but does not give the Status Effect. The latter two can stack, sending all the damage back to the attacker.
Grodus can also inflict this status effect on himself.
