In the upcoming game, Super Mario Galaxy 2 , two new power ups will transform Yoshi, a Dash Pepper and a Blimp Berry. Here is what this helpful fruit can do: when Yoshi eats the Blimp Berry, he transforms into a big balloon and can hover, or even fly (like the P-Balloon in Super Mario World and Mario's Flower Power in Super Mario 64 DS and the Bee Suit in Super Mario Galaxy )... You have an AIR meter, like the bee suit, that tells you how long you can stay in the air.
Blimp Berries are a special type of fruit appearing in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They look like light-blue Berries with a small stem. When Yoshi consumes this fruit, he changes his green color to Light Blue and inflates, way similar to Balloon Mario's power-up. After that, Yoshi can propel in the air by exhaling the air inside him or hold the A button to hover in the same place. However, like Bee Mario, a meter appears to show how long Yoshi can stay afloat. Once the meter has gone, Yoshi becomes green again.

Mario and Yoshi near a Blimp Berry.
