Akuman was the first of the many bosses Toad faced in Game B mode in the NES version of the game Wario's Woods. Akuman is a purple, bat-winged, monkey-like creature in jester-like clothes who carries a trident. He has the ability to eliminate all bombs on-screen. Akuma, the word Akuman is derived from, is the Japanese word for devil, and one is depicted with one or more of these features: monkey-like body, batwings, trident. This makes Akuman a serviceable Japanese devil.
