A Cactus Jack.
Cactus Jacks are large, spike covered creatures with tagets on their chests. They can only be moved by being shot by an Egg. If they come into contact with anything when rolling they'll explode and shoot out coins. Cactus Jack appear only in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
It's possible that they are a pale sub-species of Needlenoses.
