Template:Racecourse Toad's Factory is the fourth and final course of the Mushroom Cup from the latest Mario Kart installment, Mario Kart Wii. The dynamic course is a bit more difficult than other Mushroom Cup previous tracks, because it has some particular features, as conveyor belts over the track, which can change slightly the speed of the karts that pass over them. Some hydraulic machines appear over conveyor belts, whom will crush anything that is under of them. Also, multiple boxes slide along on the treadmills, which can slow karts down if they knock them down and let out a mushroom, a banana, or (rarely) a star when broken. Towards the end of the track, a large pool of mud must be crossed by the players. To get over quickly, dash panels are used. However, bulldozers on either side of the track will alternately move back and forth, covering up dash panels or revealing new ones. The fifth and final panel is on a ramp.

Description

As the name implies, the course takes place in a factory, presumably owned by Toad. This factory seems to be producing item boxes, as seen in several parts of the course. Inside the factory, giant forging presses turn regular blocks into item boxes--and drivers into pancakes! Conveyor belts are also present to either help or hinder the player depending on what direction he/she may be going.

Another view of the press room.

The course begins just outside the factory with a logo of the owner, Toad, above the door. After a tight turn, the first main room features large forging presses that can squash unwary drivers. There are three conveyor belts in this room: one in the center that leads forward, and two backwards-leading belts (one on each side of the center). Beware; the center path has two presses.

After this room, the player is led to an outdoor loading dock. Giant cranes move large platforms left and right, sometimes exposing water to fall into. Here, there are more conveyor belts, but they move from left and right rather than forward and backward. Wooden boxes on the conveyor belts slow down the player; however, some carry Mushrooms in them. Be careful; there are no railings.

The "conveyor curve", before the "smoke blaster" room.

After the loading dock, the player enters the factory once more. After a short curved section is a large curved room with two curved conveyor belts on the floor. The conveyor belts move in opposite directions, one forward and one backward. The conveyor belts reverse directions occasionally; when in first place, they appear to change every lap.

After the "converyor curve", the next room is full of smoke vents and red emergency lights. The smoke can, if hit, slow down the player. A turn leads to a ramp with boost panels that lead outside the factory and outside into the dirt. The player may perform a stunt to reach the floating item boxes to receive an item.

On the ground, the player will notice a lot of bumps. The player may perform a stunt on these bumps to gain momentum. The next right turn leads to a mud-covered straightaway flanked by massive bulldozers. The bulldozers' blades cover and reveal boost panels, allowing the player to dash across the mud. Finally, a ramp leads to the finish line.

In Time Trial mode, the wooden crates are replaced by metal boxes.

Shortcuts

There is a shortcut that allows the player to cut the final curve, just after jumping out of the factory. The player must use a Mushroom at the soil ramps and perform a trick so the player can pass over the water hole falling just before the big bulldozers.

Trivia

  • Amongst the many vehicles driving on Moonview Highway is a truck with a mushroom Emblem on it and the word 'Factory' on it. It is likely that these trucks come from, or are going to, Toad's Factory.
  • This is the second course that has something to do with mushrooms in the Mushroom Cup (possibly coincidentally as the cup is named the mushroom cup), the other being the Mushroom Gorge.
  • For some reason, the music for this course restarts right after the player takes the large jump after the room filled with smoke.
