The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the article should be moved to its appropriate title.

During the game Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong kidnapped Pauline and when he did, Pauline lost three of her items she had: her hat, umbrella and purse. Mario set out to save Pauline from Donkey Kong, and recover her lost items found throughout the game. They can be found in any stage but the ramp stage. Recovering Pauline's items was an optional thing to do the game. Each item was worth 300 points in level 1, 500 in level 2, and 800 in subsequent levels.

In the NES port, the hat does not exist and is sometimes replaced by a second umbrella. All three items were featured as optional collectable items in the 1994 Game Boy title, Donkey Kong. In this game, collecting all the items rewarded Mario with up to three extra lives upon completing the level.

Pauline's umbrella, now called "Pauline's parasol" was an inventory item in the Nintendo Adventure Book, Doors to Doom.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the items appear in the retro stage 75M, which is based on the original Donkey Kong. Touching the items causes a sound effect and makes them disappear for a while, but it does not affect gameplay.
