The mini-game The Final Countdown.
The Final Countdown is a battle mini-game in Mario Party 7.
Gameplay
The playing field is a platform with 9 panels. There is a number on each of the panels (1-9), and decreases by 1 each passing second. If the number on a panel ever falls to 0, the panel gives way, eliminating any player on it from the game. (Thus, the players must jump to panels with a higher number on them to prevent elimination.) Competitors are allowed to punch and kick the opposition to try and force them either off the platform entirely or into a hole. Additionally, the rate at which the countdown occurs speeds up the longer the game goes on. The last player standing on the number panels wins the mini-game.
Trivia
- This mini-game's title is a direct reference to The Final Countdown, a song by the 1980's hard rock group Europe.
