A Chewy is a green-headed, purple-leaved and stemmed Piranha Plant that can be found throughout Bean Valley in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Chewies have roots that seemed to have evolved into primitive legs, giving them the ability to walk and run. Chewys can be quite nasty in packs and are usually accompanied by Shy Aways and other enemies. In battle, they use HP siphoning attacks like Drain and Mega Drain.
