The P-Wing is an item found in Super Mario Bros. 3 that allows Mario or Luigi to fly in the air with their Raccoon forms for unlimited amount of time. However, if the brothers are hit while flying, or receive a non-flying-based power-up within a level, they will lose the power of the P-Wing. Additionally, the effects of the P-Wing only last for one level. After that, the brothers are left with the basic Super Leaf abilities. The first P-Wing received in the game is located in Toad's secret shop, unlockable only by gathering most or all of coins in level 1-4 (at least 44 coins are required). The P-Wing can be combined with the Tanooki Suit.

The only appearance of P-Wings in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 was in the episode "Up, Up, and a Koopa", where, instead of being used by Mario or Luigi, they are used by Toad and Princess Toadstool.
The P-Wing makes a cameo appearance in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. It appears on the side of some trucks in Mushroom Bridge and Mushroom City. Additionally, the license plate of the truck that has the P-Wing on it is "SMB3", the short name for Super Mario Bros. 3, the game where this item originally appears in.
