There are two roofs in the Marioverse: Princess Peach's Castle in Super Mario 64and in Luigi's Mansion. After playing Super Mario 64 and earning 120 power stars, the grate on the sand that was previously sealed opens to reveal a cannon. Firing Mario to the roof of the Castle results in talking to Yoshi (on the roof), who will give Mario 99 1-Ups, and an enhanced triple jump. Also up there is a Wing Cap. In addition in the enhanced remake for the Nintendo DS, Luigi's last rabbit, three 1-Ups and a red ? Block can be found.

In Luigi's Mansion, it is possible to traverse to the mansion's Roof. Some Shy Ghouls and Flashes are here, as well as the Key to the Armory and the entrance to the Sealed Room
