Biffidus

Template:Anotherlanguage Template:Newsubject The Bifīzu Person is a member of a tribe-like group of Bifīzu people, who help the parasite worm Imounu. They are rounded in shape and carry spears, which they use to attack. During the events of Mario and Luigi RPG 3!!!, Bowser ate a huge carrot, which unknown at the time, contained Imounu. The Bifīzu person helped Imounu in battle, by trying to jab Mario or Luigi with their spears. However, after taking much damage, Imounu would eat the Bifīzu person, then regurgitate them at Mario or Luigi, which they must jump over the flying Bifīzu person. It is unknown why the Bifīzu person assisted Imounu, even though she ate them repeatedly. However, the Bifīzu people were no match for Mario and Luigi, and were ultimately defeated, along with their master, Imounu.

It is possible that their name comes from bifizusu, the Japanese name for the bifidobacteria. Interestingly, they are the only enemy in the game to have a kanji in their name during battle. Other enemies with a kanji name revert to hiragana during battle.
