The level begins outside, where Brown Yoshi must Ground Pound on the 'sand wall' and make his way down. He must hit a Winged Cloud in the second open section down to reveal a door, which leads into the cave.
Once in the cave, Yoshi faces certain challenges. He must use Spring Balls to reach certain areas and Arrow Clouds to obtain certain items. This level is also one of the few levels that features Kaboomba, a walking cannon, and Cactus Jack, a sub-species of Needlenose.
This level also features a Mini Battle: Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest, in which Yoshi verses Bandit.
Despite the name, most of this level is set outside.
