:It's worth a mention, but it was its own story (sort of like a parody in which cartoon characters play the roles of a fairy tale). {{User:Mariuigi_Khed/sig}} 14:04, January 24, 2025 (EST) |

Cousins
Isn't Wario Luigi's cousin?Stanly the bugman should be mentioned too.User:mr bones
- If Wario was Luigi's cousin, then, by extension, he'd also be Mario's cousin. However, this fact has not been confirmed in a main-series game. As far as I'm aware, it's never even been stated in a spin off. As for Stanley: what makes you think he's related to the Marios? Redstar 08:57, 2 January 2010 (EST)
I thought that he's his cousin. Here's what I saw in ign.com: Mario's frequently forgotten cousin Stanley was the bugspray-wielding exterminator in Donkey Kong 3. The story of that sequel was that DK had broken into Stanley's greenhouse and started causing trouble, and it was up to Stan the man to send the big ape packing with the power of potent pesticide.User:mr bones
- They were being sarcastic. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
Name
Shouldn't this article be "Mario and Luigi's Family", with a capital F? Fawfulfury65
Grandmothers
Shouldn't there be sections about Grandma and the unnamed grandmother? Weegie baby (talk) hour, day month, year
Mario and Luigi
Mario and Luigi should have their own sections. Weegie baby (talk) 09:55, November 13, 2024 (EST)
Possible relative of the Mario Bros.
In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Plummers Academy", a man similar in appearance to Mario and Luigi appears with them, wearing a white shirt with a purple tie, black pants, and brown shoes, who cheers with them as the President of the United States's motorcade drives by. Should this be mentioned in the article? Apikachu68 (talk) 14:23, December 12, 2024 (EST)
- Interesting, but without proofs or confirmation, it's a mere coincidence, like the proto-Wario at the beginning of said episode.

FINALLY! YES!!!
I’ve found proof that Stanley’s Mario’s cousin. It’s in IGN. Here: https://www.ign.com/articles/2007/09/28/smash-it-up-from-the-trophy-case. See Stanley’s section. Weegie baby (talk) 18:20, January 1, 2025 (EST)
- It's not really officially vetted, so I wouldn't consider this solid evidence, but I guess you can add an asterisk at the end of the article that IGN claims Stanley to be the Mario Bros.'s cousin, in a similar vein to how Prima Guide claims Toadette to be Toad's sister.

- What do you mean “asterisk”? You do that… Weegie baby (talk) 18:20, January 1, 2025 (EST)
- Unlike Prima, IGN isn’t an official source from Nintendo though, is it? I don’t think this is worth any mention on the wiki as it’s just a gaming journalist projecting their own view online. — Lady Sophie

- Probably just say they claimed this but there's no evidence outside of it. We should probably set the record for that in case this crops up again in the future.

- Honestly, it sounds more like not much as "cousin" like "family member", but more like "a member of the same franchise" (kinda like saying "Mario and Link are Shigeru's "children"." as in "creations" not actual biological kids), but I don't wanna open another parenthesis like we did with Talk:Mama Mario. BUT... thinking about it, wasn't there a Nintendo magazine that once claimed that Wario was considered Mario's cousin? I'm pretty sure it was also written on his page at one point (I also looked online for this, but outside from unsourced Reddit posts, I didn't find anything, so I can see why it was potentially removed). --

Stanley
So, I found another website that said Stanley is Mario's cousin, though I don't know if it's official. You tell me: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1690724557/stanley-the-bugman-rare-mario-character.

- That's an Etsy listing of a fanmade piece of merchandise. That is very much not official. ;P
