Two more Screenshots

Gamekult.com offers two more screenshots: [1]. I would upload them, but I ask before because they have Gamekult's watermarks: Where is the screenshot uploaded by Paper Jorge from, since this one doesn't have a watermark? --Grandy02 10:54, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Go ahead and upload them, and then if Jorge has versions of those screenshots without a watermark, he can easily update the image file. On a side note: I see that there will be 2-D sidescroller moments. Playing as Bowser and the Bros. may be connected as the babies and adults were in the previous title (the actions of one on one screen and the actions of the other on the other screen). Finally, the map system seems to be updated, and the fat Toads look like they are normal Toads who have contracted an illness and are thus in the hospital. All speculation at this point, so I won't put it in the article. Stumpers! 14:45, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Speculative nature is allowed, says the template. In this case (unlike e.g. guessing Brawl characters was), the speculation has a good basis by comparing the screenshots to Partners in Time. I would add that and state it's speculation. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 15:12, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Here's some watermarkless versions: [2] CrossEyed7 15:29, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Trailer is here! Should answer some questions. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:42, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

From what I can see in the screenshots, it appears they are using a slightly different style of sprites in the game. Should this be noted in the article, or not until we have proof? — Stooben Rooben 16:56, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Info

So far I researched the game and found info. In the Video on part showed Bowser eating a Magic shroom that gave him the ability to suck air. (kinda of Kirby.) Thus this cause him to go to Peach's castle Punch a counter and fight Mario. After there little fight Bowser suck up Peach, Mario, Luigi and Toadworth (I think). Another part shows Ship (Maybe U.F.O know if there are Shroob.) attacking Bowser's Castle. Also featured in the video showed a Green Toad (Look much like the one in Super Mario RPG Lengend of the Seven Star that watch over Peach.) affacted by some illness. There also so a part when the player is in Bowser's body. (And i not sure but I think they're can control Bowser and Mario and Luigi at that point. SO far the plot is unknow and as well as the villan and that illness that affected the Toads. Lastly I heard rumor that the game works only on the Nintendo DSi but it hasn't been reveal yet so this it could false and maybe the game can work on an old DS. Well so that all I got. (Sorry for the messy paragraphy.) GrapesGrapes Grapes Oh and Toadette was spotted in the game unless it was Toadiko or some thing like that. And Fawful is rumored too.

I watched the video, and it does appear that way. It would be a huge change in the RPG scene for Mario if somehow the main antagonist created a virus that affected the Mushroom Kingdom. (Perhaps a more serious RPG than usual?) Also, I don't think that the game will work only for the DSi. GameStop (and Cobold) told me that it's the same thing as the DS Lite, only without the GBA slot. — Stooben Rooben 17:12, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
A pre-release screenshot of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. The blorbed Toad is saying "Please help (us) Mr. Mario."

Look at the top of the Touch Screen and you will see walls who look like Shroobs. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Sorry 'bout (I watch the video too.) Hmmm a main new (or old) antagonist started a illness. (Ooooppps I guess my info is waaayyyy off oh well.) I get wonder why Mario or Peach or even Luigi didn't get affected. (Maybe cause there humans.) Yeah about the Dsi it just like the DS lite but it contains added new features. GrapesGrapes Grapes

Some characters I saw in the video:

  • Toadbert
  • Toadsworth
  • Toadiko
  • Kemek (or a normal Magikoopa)
  • A yellow Bob-omb

This game works also on the normal DS. It looks like the game uses again a overworld unlike M&L2. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Oooopsss I thought I saw Toadette. So they return. (But there rolles are unknow.) Do you know if Fawful is in the game? GrapesGrapes Grapes

I don't know if it realy is Toadiko, but I think it's more likely for her to appear in this game than Toadette. Toadiko appeart in M&L2 so she might return. I remember Fawfull said in M&L2 he will do something in the future. Some enemies look like him. It's likely he's in the game.

  • Also Bros. Items return, not Bros. attacks from M&L1
  • There is also a meter in the under-right of the touchscreen (in Battle). You can do somthing when it is full, but it's unknown what. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)
) Thanks. Yeah I saw that too. It maybe used for a power boost or special attack. So far these Bros item have been sinc in the video. Green Shell and the Fire Flower. Bowser has his own but the only one shown is the one when he throw goomba up in the air then they fall and hit the enemies.:) Thanks. GrapesGrapes Grapes

Notice the additional command in the battle mode. There's Jumping, Hammer, Item, Bros. Item, Running away and a sixth command in the back, which looks similar to the meter on the bottom of the touchscreen. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 17:43, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Those action command block look like the one in M&L SS. GrapesGrapes Grapes

I thought they look totally different to what we've seen before. I might be wrong, it's been a long time since I played the game. But Mario & Luigi's sprites are definitely new. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 17:53, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

The sixth command in the back can be used if the meter in the under-right of the touchscreen is full. I think it's a (strong) move done by both Mario and Luigi. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Perhaps a quicker way to access the Bros. moves too? — Stooben Rooben 18:07, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Or maybe it an Exp thing. (Uhh nevermind.) Or maybe a the return of the bros moves. GrapesGrapes Grapes

Mario has a Mushroom on that bar, and Luigi has either a Freezy or a Lakitu cloud...maybe elements return in this game? Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 19:54, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Now when using a fire flower, Mario and Luigi gain their Fire Flower Suits. (the white overalls and hat etc....) Now that was a NEEDED upgrade. File:Hammer Bro. SSBB Art.jpgMCHammerBro.File:WormGuy.PNG 19:55, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Ehhh how is a mushroom an elements? GrapesGrapes Grapes

Revision: Mario has a Mushroom Bros. Move. I'm definitely leaning towards a charged-up Bros. Move system now instead of the Bros. Points. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 20:17, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Moved to the correct name. Here's the source: [3]. BLOC PARTIER.

I watched this trailer on YouTube, (sorry, no link, just search Mario and Luigi RPG 3) and in one part I see what looks like Shroobs attacking a castle. --Nerdy Guy

Also, note that the icons of the Bros. Move meter fit prefectly into eachother. FH-sprite.pngFreekhenstraFH-sprite.png

UFOs

I see the trailer again in the best quality: the UFOs are green UFOs with yellow spots. I think Fawful is bakc, HAVING MORE FURYYYY that before. Koopalmier

Yup that is Fawful, but what is that star thing? Ninja Toad5

Koopalmier, are you pretending to be me? Anyway, I don't think it's just Fawful, maybe it's Fawful with the Shroobs helping him. --Nerdy Guy

Uhh the Shroobs lost basically all there power after Mario and Luigi delt with them (No more Princess Shroob or Elder Princess Shroob). Its more likely that Fawful has made a new army of his own deadly creatures. The UFOs are probably his creations (He is a genius with his inventions eg: Headgear and his mysterious Machine in his final battle). But it is possible that Fawful and the Shroobs have teamed up togeher to get their revenge. Don't rule any ideas out till the games release ;)Storm Yoshi sig.pngStorm YoshiStorm Yoshi sig.png

Hmm I thought all the Shroobs where killed by E Gadd's machine which had chemical that are like baby's tears and that there weakness. GrapesGrapes Grapes

Japanese Text

Maybe it would reveal something if we knew the meaning of these text boxes/bubbles?
japanesevc2.png
The first one reads "Kinoko Town", the Japanese name of Toad Town. But what about the other texts? Could someone translate it? --Grandy02 08:26, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

I'll just translate it here as a response to your comment on my talk page, if you don't mind. First of all, the text at the top left does say "Kinoko Town". The blue box reads "The Lucky Mushroom? has been earned!" which is probably implying that the mushroom isn't actually the lucky mushroom, seeing from its color. Bowser is screaming "NUGAHHHHH" which really doesn't mean anything. The huge taod on the right half is saying "Mr. Mario... Please help us." I hope that helped somewhat. Marcelagus (TCE)
There's also some text on the bottom screen that says "キノピオひろば" at around 00:24 on the trailer. I think that means something along the lines of "Toad Plaza," but it's pretty blurry, so I don't know. It might be "キノピオひろは" or "キノピオひろぱ," too. Those last two don't mean anything that I know of. Twentytwofiftyseven 11:14, 4 October 2008 (EDT)
Hmm, the three of those say "Kinopio Hiruba", "Kinopio Hiruha (or maybe Hiruwa)", and "Kinopio Hirupa". Man, I wish I could translate more than a handful of Japanese words. SJ derp :P

Here's rough translations of what those mean:

  • キノピオひろば = List of Mario series characters corner
  • キノピオひろは = List of Mario series characters to fathom
  • キノピオひろぱ = List of Mario series characters sect mindedness

It's odd...to me, those three character groups look exactly the same. =| — Stooben Rooben 12:10, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

To Kodomo no Jikan:This might help you. It has a confusing interface, but once you get used to it, it helps a lot. Assuming you can actually figure out where the word boundaries are.

To Stooben Rooben: Your translations seem really bizarre to me. What is "List of Mario series characters" about? Also, the difference between the three is in the last character. The top and bottom ones have the diacritics "dakuten" and "handakuten" respectively, which alter the pronunciation and meaning.

kinopiohiroba.png
This is the actual text. As you can see, it's quite blurry. I'm fairly sure that the second-to-last character is really "ろ" not "る," though. On the other hand, it could be "う" XD. I would like the Japanese language a lot more if fewer of its characters were so similar looking to others. Twentytwofiftyseven 12:45, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

Yeah, after looking at it, it looks more like the "ro" character than the "ru" character. SJ derp :P

Alright, I asked a friend of mine from Japan what "ひろば" means, and she says it means field. So it's "Toad Fields," which really fits pretty well. Twentytwofiftyseven 20:43, 6 October 2008 (EDT)

Kinopio Fields? It might be an area out side of Toad Town then. GrapesGrapes Grapes

kinopiohiroba2.png
Minutely less blurry. I'm fairly sure it's "ひろば" at this point. Also, here's an image of the source:
Twentytwofiftyseven 22:50, 6 October 2008 (EDT)

It says "KINOPIO HIROBA". Trust me. It means something like "Toad Plaza" or "Toad Place". I speak and write Japanese fluently, and yes, it would make no sense if it was Hiropa or Hirupa or Hiruba or ARRIVA! (jklol). Marcelagus (TCE)

Shroob Wall

Shroobwall1.pngThis little pictiure is from the Map of Toad Town. Those walls look like Shroobs. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

The look like shadows to me. GrapesGrapes Grapes

If you look closely they're distinctly Star-shaped. Ztars, perhaps? Phoenix Rider

Hmm perhaps Ztar doors? GrapesGrapes Grapes

Possible, but a Ztar has white eyes and this wall dark red. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Beta

You know, we might be looking at a beta vesion of the game, because the map might end up on the top screen and Luigi's sprites seem like they will be changed. So prepare to change the article dramaticly. --Nerdy Guy

I think the map is on the touch screen for a reason. Maybe you can now use your stylus to scroll around the map. And what's wrong with Luigi's sprites, they look good if you ask me. But we yet don't know how it will look like in the future, so we will keep the article in the way it is now until more information comes. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Chancellor?

The green Toad in the trailer looks A LOT like the Chancellor from SMRPG. Do you think it could be him? SJ derp :P

I wouldn't be surprised. He's a recurring character in the RPG series. Stumpers! 14:29, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
I knew I wasn't the only one whom notice that. Anyway doesn't the Chancellor has a robe with a golden line. He looks alot like him but younger. Unless that is him but we need more sources. (To find who that Green Toad really is :0) GrapesGrapes Grapes
I wasn't about to put that in the article. ;) Stumpers! 11:17, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
I know. :D (But if some No0bie reads this and added it to the article then thats bad.) GrapesGrapes Grapes

Koopalings

Will the koopalings be in the game?
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fannerw (talk).

I dunno. Lets wait till we got more sources. Super-YoshiMust...eat...sig...Talk? C???

Do you think...

Being that the Chancellor is appearing, do any of you think that there will be partners that help out Mario and Luigi? I'm putting my money on a rogue Dry Bones... 30.pngR.O.B. 128User offline.gif How do I shot web?

Do you mean partners like Kylie Koopa or like Koops? Stumpers! 16:32, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
I meant ones like Kooper and the Yoshi Kid. I'm thinking that they will appear. ☆R.O.B 128♂ 16:35, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
Those kind of partners haven't yet appeared in the Mario & Luigi series, so I don't think it's likely. Stumpers! 16:45, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
Being that as it may, can you tell me how Kylie is a patner? She never helped me out *folds arms* ☆R.O.B 128♂ 16:52, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
She gives ya scoop on the Sandy looking area. (I forgot the name. Plus it hasn't been comfired that the Green Toad is the Chancellor 'cause it could be false or not.) GrapesGrapes Grapes
Toadsworth has replaced the Chancellor/Minister a long time ago. He's even called the chancellor himself. Just because this Toad has the same color scheme as the previous chancellor, that doesn't mean by far that they are the same person. There's a very slim chance this is the SMRPG chancellor. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 07:41, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
Thanks, Cobld and Arend. I appreciate it. :) ☆R.O.B 128♂ 16:39, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
This Toad isn't the Chancellor. The Chancellor has a white cap and green spots and this Toad a Green cap with wite spots. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)
Arend it rights!! (I didn't notice that.) Princess Grapes Butterfly

WAITWAIT..

The Nintendo DS and the Nintendo DSi have 2 different screen sizes, but the game can be seen being played on both handhelds... Could it be that the game was changed from the Nintendo DS to the Nintendo DSi similar to its prequel with the Game Boy Advance to the Nintendo DS?~Μαριοθανικαλ 11:49, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

The DSi is just the new version of the Ds Lite. GrapesGrapes Grapes

Nonooooo, well yes BUT, they have slight changes
  • 12% thinner than DS Lite
  • Screens are 3.25 inches, an increase of .25 from DS Lite
  • 0.3-megapizel camera inside the system with a maximum resolution of 640x480
  • 3-megapixel camera on the back of the system
  • Game Boy Advance slot has been removed
  • SD card slot added to transfer photos and music between DSi, Wii and PC
  • Music playback for AAC music files
  • Enhanced speakers and audio
  • DSi online store from which DSi applications can be bought using Nintendo Points
  • Free-to-download Opera internet browser available at launch
  • Power button relocated to below D-Pad
  • Stylus relocated to below SD card slot
  • New user interface similar to that of Wii
  • Integrated Photo Channel and music playback
  • Applications from the DSi store will be region-locked

~Μαριοθανικαλ 12:10, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

I know :P. (It like a mini Wii.) GrapesGrapes Grapes

Yea, but the screen sizes is different and so are the number if pixels. ~Μαριοθανικαλ 12:15, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

The launch trailer of the game showed the game being played on a DS lite. The montage of upcoming DS games showed it on a DSi, using the full screen size. The game is simply enhanced for a DSi, but compatible to the DS lite (so far). - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:24, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

I think it work on a regular DS. When the Ds lite came out it was still working with old DS games like Super Mario 64 DS. Princess Grapes Butterfly
I know that but, it might be that if the game is changed to be for the DSi, it might not be compatible with the DS, but that has not happened yet~Μαριοθανικαλ 12:41, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

I don't think thats the case, isn't the DSi just a fancy DS lite (of sorts) meaning it would still play all the old (and new) DS games - Kamicciolo

Well the DSi can probably play all the old games of course. But the Nintendo DS lite might not be able to play some new DSi games, (some games might need the larger screen of the DSi, others might need the camera, etc.)~Μαριοθανικαλ 13:13, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
I can't see the screen size making such a big difference, but the camera would be the decider (unless they released an addon for the DS lite) - Kamicciolo
I can see the screen size making a big difference~Μαριοθανικαλ 13:44, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
