The Nintendo DS handheld game system with two screens, the bottom one being a touch screen, that was released in 2004 by Nintendo. Probably, DS means Dual Screen. A newer model the DS Lite was released in 2006 with four brightnes settings and a smaller overall size(This having the negative side effect where a regular advance cartridge would stick out from the bottom in a similar fashion experienced when playing a Game Boy or Game Boy Color Cartridge in the older Game Boy Advance SP).
