The Metal Cap appears in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. The Metal cap can turn Mario into Metal Mario! Nothing can hurt him! The side effect of this temporary invulnerability is that the user becomes exteremely heavy, so they can no longer make very high or long jumps, and sink faster in quick sand.
Metal Mario appeared in Super Smash Bros., and the metal cap was an item in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
