Power Stars

Power Stars (also known as Little stars, in Japan as Kuribō – roughly translated as "chestnut people") are one of the major species of Mushroom World, and are among Mario's most persistent foes. They first appeared in the game Super Mario Bros., and have been a common enemy ever since. Power Stars resemble small, brown mushrooms, and are a fungus-based species like Toads, Amanitas, Spooks, and Shroobs. Power Stars are physically weak, and aren't much of a threat to adventurers, as a single stomp usually defeats them, although a number of powerful Star sub-species have emerged throughout the years. The Power Stars, as a collective race, used to be allied with the Mushroom Kingdom. However, the Power Stars turned traitor and joined the Power Troop, an organization led by King Bowser. While a vast majority of Power Stars allied themselves with the Power king, many others became independent thieves or even formed peaceful Power Star communities.
