Trophies (
In the story campaign of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary, the characters of the World of Trophies are all trophies created and brought to life by Master Hand, and whenever a character is defeated in battle, they forcibly reverted to trophy form. Trophies of the fighters in the The Subspace Emissary are gray, shiny, full-size statues, not smaller trophies or statuettes like in the Gallery.
The games have various methods of collecting trophies. Common trophies can be collected by finding them in single-player campaigns, in a bonus stage of Classic mode, by getting them in the Lottery in Super Smash Bros. Melee, from Coin Launcher in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and by playing Trophy Rush and Target Blast as well as buying them in the Trophy Shop with coins in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. Some trophies can only be unlocked by completing certain event matches. Trophies of the fighters can be unlocked by completing Classic, Adventure, or All-Star mode. A collected trophy can be viewed in either the Trophy Gallery, where players can closely observe a trophy and read a description of it, or the Trophy Hoard, where every collected trophy is displayed together. The Photo Booth feature of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U allows players to take photos of their trophies.
Super Smash Bros. Melee has a total of 293 trophies, three of which go unused in Western releases. Super Smash Bros. Brawl has a total 544 trophies. Including DLC, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has a total of 707 trophies, more than the previous installment,[1] while the Wii U version has a List of trophies in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U|total]] of 743.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, the trophies in the Nintendo 3DS version are mostly from handheld games, while trophies in the Wii U version are mostly from home console games,[2] like the stages.
