The Soli-Tree is the final area of Mario & Luigi: Brothership, also serving as the final boss after Reclusa merges with it, becoming Weeping Reclusa. It is located in the Stormstar Sea, at the exact center of Concordia, where the original Uni-Tree once stood. The tree itself is split into three sections, each with a distinct visual flair: the lower, middle and upper levels. Due to not having a lighthouse, the Soli-Tree cannot be linked to Shipshape Island upon completion. Its name is a play on the word "solitude" and the Uni-Tree.
History
After Zokket's defeat, he gives the last of his energy to the egg, freeing Cozette but also reawakening Reclusa. Immediately, he surrounds Fortress Zokket with invasive flora, converting it into his own lair and creating yet another barrier, requiring the Mario and Luigi to obtain energy from 7 significant Bonds within Concordia to fill the Bond Can and penetrate through. After the Mario Bros. collect a few bonds, Reclusa appears via hologram and bounces off a few names for his lair such as the Darkwood and the Enmitree, before settling on the Soli-Tree.
After the Mario Bros. gather all the bonds, Connie waters them with the Bond Can and they blast off from the cannon, destroying the barrier surrounding the Soli-Tree. Connie joins the Mario Bros. as they explore the Soli-Tree, wanting to rescue her mentor Cozette, who had ventured in alone to confront Reclusa to make up for her mistakes. To unlock the elevator to the middle level, the Mario Bros must collect 8 plugs, most of which requiring them to complete a puzzle testing different skills learned throughout the game. After a plug is inserted, it must be hit with the proper element to work. Scattered throughout many of the lower level's rooms are large flowers that release pollen. If this pollen touches either Mario or Luigi, they will be separated and knocked unconscious until the other brother recovers them. Hidden in the seesaw challenge is a small room containing 8 Grampy Turnips, including a Golden Grampy Turnip.
After gathering all the plugs and using the elevator to reach the middle level, the Mario, Luigi and Connie come across an injured Cozette. Connie chooses to stay with her while the Mario Bros. continue on to confront Reclusa, but suddenly everything goes black and they find themselves back in the Mushroom Kingdom with everybody congratulating them for saving the day. It turns out that Mario and Luigi have been captured by two of Reclusa's flowers and are trapped in a fake reality. After escaping, they ride the elevator to the upper level, only to immediately be ambushed by most of Reclusa's remaining forces. While they are able to hold off a few waves, Mario and Luigi are overwhelmed and nearly defeated until Bowser steps in and unintentionally rescues them while trying to enact his revenge against Zokket.
As the Mario Bros. press on, Reclusa confronts them once again and reveals that the Soli-Tree is almost ready for him to fuse with before running off. Snoutlet then creates a giant plug and the Mario Bros. ride it as they chase down Reclusa. After defeating him, it turns out to have been a trick to stall for time and Reclusa fuses with the Soli-Tree, becoming Weeping Reclusa. He immediately swats away Bowser and his remaining forces and releases a Glohm aura which incapacitates the Mario Bros. and Snoutlet. Connie rushes up and waters them with the Bond Can, giving them the power to remain conscious and Snoutlet gives them a pep talk before the final battle truly begins.
After a tough and arduous battle, Reclusa is defeated and the Soli-Tree breaks apart and sinks into the ocean, allowing Shipshape Island to enter the center of Concordia and become the new Uni-Tree.
