World 8-7 is the secret level in World 8 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, unlocked by finding the secret exit in World 8-2. This level features the Spine Coasters' first and only appearance, and is populated by several Lava Geysers. There are no enemies in this level. Unlike World 8-2 and World 8-3, this level uses an edited version of the default underground background.
Layout[edit]
The player starts the level in a lava-filled cavern where they must jump on a Spine Coaster, which later leads to another Spine Coaster. The Spine Coaster leads Mario and co. to a Warp Pipe, which leads to a volcano overworld/above-ground area with the midway point and to another Spine Coaster. After three more Spine Coasters, the pole awaits at the end. The Spine Coasters often make risky maneuvers, passing through Lava Geysers and the lava itself.

Trivia[edit]
- If the player falls under the cliff with the midway point, they can see that the Warp Pipe connecting to the underground area is not tiled correctly, with an opening connected to a junction box.
- This level was originally intended to be an autoscrolling level, though this was eventually changed as the screen moved too fast for the Spine Coaster to keep up.[1]
