Red Coins in a Bottle is the third episode of Noki Bay in Super Mario Sunshine. The episode's objective is to collect red coins in a small glass bottle, and is meant as a tutorial to help the player learn how to move around in water for the next episode.
Layout[edit]
As soon as Mario enters the level, he will be greeted by the Noki elder who tells Mario that he has discovered the source of the pollution underwater. He will then give Mario a helmet to wear and tell Mario to collect the red coins in a bottle the Noki elder has sitting next to him as training. Mario will then shrink down and enter the bottle.
Mario then finds himself in the water of the bottle suspended high in a cloudy sky. As Mario moves around to collect the red coins, he will lose air, so the player has to collect yellow coins as well in order to avoid drowning. Additionally, there are Cheep-Cheeps swimming around that will drag Mario to the bottom of the bottle if they catch him. In order to move around, the player has to use the Hover Nozzle to propel Mario in the direction he is facing. Three of the red coins are scattered around the water, two more are located on the ground, and one is placed inside a stone structure. Two more are located near an arrow sign, which will propel Mario upward if he is close enough. Once all eight red coins are collected, the Shine Sprite will appear next to the stone structure.

Trivia[edit]
- There is a half-opened door on the side of the sand castle at the bottom of the bottle that Mario cannot enter. However, rotating the camera reveals a book. Touching the book via hacking does nothing, as the door and book models are part of the level geometry rather than separate objects.
