Booster Battle is one of the six minigames in DK: Jungle Climber, accessed through Challenge mode. It takes place at High-High Island and is the last minigame to be unlocked, added after Space A Go-Go is completed.
In this minigame, Donkey Kong must use a Booster Barrel to reach the finish line in a vertically-based course before a competitor, avoiding obstacles like tires and barrels, which cause him to briefly slow down. There are also speed boosts along the way. DK is given 30 seconds to win each level, though rivals may cross the finish line sooner, which also results in a loss.
In Level 1, Donkey Kong faces off against Funky Kong in a mountain environment similar to the one Space A Go-Go takes place in. There are speed boosts and tires throughout the course, with the latter becoming more spaced out toward the end.
In Level 2, DK races against Dixie Kong in an icy area. There are tires throughout the course, as well as multiple speed boosts just before the goal.
In Level 3, DK competes against Diddy Kong in a factory setting. In addition to tires and speed boosts, there are barrels, which also cause DK to temporarily slow down if hit, though they break after the first collision.
Additionally, there is an endless mode which DK advances in outer space until he collides with a meteor, which always appear from the top of the screen. Some meteors are much larger than others.
