Azalea, Mario Golf: Advance Tour

Azalea is a human female golfer in the Mario Golf series, debuting in the Game Boy Color version of Mario Golf.

History

Mario Golf

In Mario Golf for the Game Boy Color, she is one of four characters that the player can choose from at the beginning of the game and train however they like. According to the game's instructional manual, she is seventeen and is an experienced athlete who also runs track. According to the Japanese website of Mario Golf, her form was poor the first time she attempted golf, but with her father's help, she has improved over two years of training.

Using the Transfer Pak, Azalea can be uploaded to the Nintendo 64 Mario Golf as a playable character.

Mario Golf: Advance Tour

In Mario Golf: Advance Tour, Azalea defeats Tiny, takes the title as champion of the Dunes course, and sides with him as a doubles partner for the Dunes Club Doubles Cup. When Neil or Ella defeats her, she realizes how Tiny must have felt when she defeated him.

Physical appearance

Azalea's appearance in the Game Boy Color Mario Golf

In Mario Golf, Azalea is depicted as a young girl with fair skin, orange hair, and blue eyes. She wears an orange polo shirt with white short sleeves and yellow shorts with orange trims, and matching trainers with mid-height white socks underneath. On her head, she wears a white visor with an "N" on the front and an orange brim with white lining.

In Mario Golf: Advance Tour, Azalea's appearance is slightly different. She appears taller and older, and has slightly longer hair and a slimmer face. She wears the same shirt, along with a brown hat with a white stripe, a white golf glove on her left hand, yellow mid-range shorts and orange tennis shoes with lighter soles and tips. Her design looks very similar to Princess Daisy's modern appearance, which first appeared in Mario Party 4 in 2002 and started to wear nearly-identical shoes in sports games since Toadstool Tour.

Character bio

Translated from Japanese:[2]

I used to do track and practice was pretty tough. But thanks to that, I got a tough lower body. Did that sound vulgar? It's been 2 years since I first started playing golf, but I am gradually improving with my father's guidance! I am thinking that I do not have much ability yet, but I have recently been chosen as a representative of my school! Lucky me!
