Waddlewing's Nest, or Rock-Candy Mines-3, is the third course of Rock-Candy Mines in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is unlocked via completion of Grinding-Stone Tower or Shifting-Floor Cave, and its own completion opens the path to a red ! Switch, a spot where a Bubble Baby Yoshi resides, a Green Toad House, and Walking Piranha Plants!.

Layout

The level begins near a ? Block containing a power-up and a Chain Chomp. The level progresses vertically, where Waddlewings, red tilting platforms, and more Chain Chomps are found. Warp Pipes containing Piranha Plants are found on the ground and the ceiling. Another Chain Chomp is found, which can be used to break Brick Blocks on the left, allowing access to a 1-Up Mushroom. A P Switch is found hidden in the wall to the left, and a tilting platform and more Waddlewings are found. A Chain Chomp is found with the Checkpoint Flag, and a Warp Pipe leads to the next section. The section contains a lift that moves downward, where multiple Waddlewings are encountered. A Red Ring can also be found. Star Coins

  • Star Coin 3: The third Star Coin is found during the elevator section, in plain sight.
