The Battle Space is a special space that first appeared in Mario Party 2.
When a player lands this space, Goomba comes by, gets a certain amount of coin from each player (he chose randomly in MP2, and then chose by roulette for the rest of the series) and a battle-mini-game begins. Players attempt to battle each other to get the jackpot that the Goomba took. The 1st place finisher takes 70% of the collected coins, and the 2nd place finisher gets the remaining 30%. If the total jackpot is not a multiple of 10, all coins but one will be distributed in this manner, and the remaining coin goes to a random player. In Mario Party 4, Goomba became the host of his own board, and was replaced by Bob-omb. In Mario Party 6, these spaces were changed entirely, having a violet B on them (a lightning bolt in the PAL version), and were only found in Solo Mode. Landing on one of these made the player play a Battle Mini-game against the Koopa Kids.
