Interesting, looks official. Now we just need someone how can read it. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 14:11, 29 May 2008 (EDT)

I hope someone can translate this as said above.--YOSHIANDLINK1 19:33, 1 June 2008 (EDT)

With or without colon

This article currently has a colon after Wario Land, while both sources I found don't have it. I suggest we don't needlessly move the article around because of punctuation and leave it this way until we get to see a boxart or logo. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 14:11, 29 May 2008 (EDT)

Some images...

Boxart (with Captain Syrup?)

Here's a small boxart: [2] Can you see the long-haired woman with the baggy pants on the left side, above the logo? The coloring is different, but otherwise, she surely is Captain Syrup, don't you think? --Grandy02 10:06, 6 June 2008 (EDT)

A comparison to make it clear: captainsyrupkf6.png --Grandy02 13:36, 6 June 2008 (EDT)
It certainly looks a lot like Captain Syrup, which is freaking AWESOME! - Smashgoom202 07:43, 9 June 2008 (EDT)

I hope so. That character was awesome, the perfect antithesis (probably not the correct word) to fat, greedy Wario was a thin, greedy woman... - Ultimatetoad

New Scan with Story and Maple (Syrup)

Here's a new (Japanese) scan, [3], revealing the story of the game. Anyone able to translate it? It shows that there are cutscenes in anime-style, and the woman there must by Syrup or at least a close relative. However, she is named "Maple" (メイプル) in the scan. Maybe her first name ("Captain Maple Syrup")? --Grandy02 09:41, 11 June 2008 (EDT)

Maple is most likely the Japanese name of Syrup (names are somtimes different). I have translated the name of the girl in the left-under picture from Japanese Logo's to the Latin. Here Japanese name is Merufuru Kuinon. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

I like that anime look to it. Also, it definitely LOOKS a lot like Captain Syrup... I just hope Nintendo doesn't treat her as a completely new character... Anyway, I can't translate it, sorry. - Smashgoom202 09:22, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

Maybe... Also, I can't translate Japanese names to English names, but my bro and I can translate these Japanese Logo's (Katakana) to Latin letters using this: [4] ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

First Artwork

Gamehiker has added the first two artwork pieces for the game to the gallery: [5]. Both show Wario, one time "shaking" an enemy. Doesn't the enemy loosely resemble a Pirate Goom? --Grandy02 15:12, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

Translated Story (Copyright Violation?)

Shroobario has added the translated story which has been recently posted in some forums. But he directly adopted the text, and didn't give any source. Did the translator gave his permission? If not, an own summary of the translation should be written. Or is Shroobario himself the translator? But then he surely wouldn't also include that "translator" note. What to do now? --Grandy02 04:18, 13 June 2008 (EDT)

I'd make my own version, since I was tranlating a portuguese version I found in Wii Brasil, but than I found an version that's already in english. I though there was no promblem because tons of notices websites use that, and don't ask permission, os ya. Shrooby GreenDance.gif Talk

Links

When this game comes out we need to start making articles for the main charcters and places in the game, just saying i know everyone probably knows this i was just saying this because i thought about making the links now but there would be to many red links lol. Articles like

UPDATE: They have articles now but they need some editing :/ lol.Δ ΔTheuseD.PNGΔ Δ

Shouldn't we wait until we have their English Names? Or are those for certain their English names? Goomb-omb 13:19, 19 June 2008 (EDT)
There already was an article for Rosalina months before Galaxy came out, then by her Japanese name Rosetta. I see no problem for making articles about those characters. Independent of the language, they have official names. --Grandy02 13:27, 19 June 2008 (EDT)
Okay, sounds good ;) Goomb-omb 13:35, 19 June 2008 (EDT)

Shake It!

It's being called Wario Land: Shake It! now. It's being released on 9.29.08. I found this out on The Mushroom Kingdom.

Mariofan132

According to ONM, its now Wario Land: The Shake Dimension. I prefered Wario Land Shake. :/
Wario Land:The Shake Dimenssion is its name in Europe and austrailia. Anyway, TMK is a reliable source of info. So... shall the page be moved?GreenKoopa - Comments or questions?
I'd say yes, since we use the American titles because of consistency, and TMK is indeed a reliable source. --Grandy02 10:36, 25 June 2008 (EDT)

Editing

Realar

I've been trying to update the Wario Land: Shake It! page, though I'm having trouble with citations and image size, I'm a new editor, is my direction correct?

It's quite fine for being new here. You add image sizes like this:
The |200px part is important. It means that the image is scaled to 200 pixels width. (and height is automatically adjusted)
For references maybe this page can help you. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 17:08, 25 June 2008 (EDT)

New JAP Boxart (with Character Artwork)

A new Japanese boxart has been published: Click. It shows many characters and species from the game, including main ones like Captain Maple Syrup, Shay King, Queen Melfull and Melfull Subject.

maplesyrupqh1.png shaykingyc7.png queenmelfulleq9.png melfullsubjectgp0.png

Still in low resolution, but now we know at least how they look in full view. --Grandy02 05:31, 2 July 2008 (EDT)

Official Site and Videos are up

As many surely have noticed already, the official Japanese site for the game is now online: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/rwlj/character/index.html

It features the whole animated prologue of the game and a gameplay video. These videos are also available on YouTube:

--Grandy02 11:05, 4 July 2008 (EDT)

The music in the background of the gameplay video is the same as the victory music of Wario in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Nintendo was most likely working on this game before Brawl even was finished.

Yeah!! shake it!! Birdo blowing kiss M&LSS.gifBirdoshiYsh-left.gif

A new footage has been added some time ago, with spoken introductions in Japanese:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/rwlj/intro/index.html . It shows much more content, including moves and bosses. --Grandy02 08:34, 11 July 2008 (EDT)

I saw the footage a little while ago and I discoverd something. Since Wario can only return to his own world with help of the Melfull Subjects, you must find one in every level. When you found a Melfull Subject, it will show you the location you must get to with a arrow. Get to this location IN TIME LIMIT. Similar with the Frog Switch in Wario Land 4. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

You are right, I didn't notice the time limit before, thanks for your regard! The game is obviously heavily influenced by its precursor, so it is likely that there's an equivalent of the Frog Switch, too. Even the game's logos are directly based on the respective logos of Wario Land 4/Advance. --Grandy02 12:11, 11 July 2008 (EDT)

But there are differences. Bosses doesn't have time limit unlike Wario Land 4. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

New Artwork

Its really big so I linked it. Can someone add it please? WarioLandShake_Character_07.jpg --YOSHIANDLINK1 21:28, 15 July 2008 (EDT)

Nice find. Paris Hilton Sez: That's hawt. FD09

New Videos

Four new videos are up: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/rwlj/game/index.html

They show:

  • Level select.
  • A gameplay footage similar to the ones we already saw.
  • Wario frees a Merelda/Melfull Subject from its cage. A timer starts and the little being shows Wario with an arrow how to get out of the level. As Arend already pointed out, somewhat similar to the Frog Switch in Wario Land 4.
  • A shop where you can buy something, and Captain Maple Syrup seems to be the shop keeper. Are Wario and Syrup friends now?

--Grandy02 09:22, 20 July 2008 (EDT)

The Shake Dimension

I think this is the better of the three titles, prehaps it could be used as the title of the page instead of Shake It! ? DC 16:16, 24 July 2008 (EDT)

Sorry, but which title is better doesn't count. Because of consistency, we generally use the American game titles (in case that the game has an US release, of course). --Grandy02 10:55, 25 July 2008 (EDT)
