Plot Synopsis
After throwing out his back shortly before King K. Rool comes to steal the Crystal Coconut, foiled again by Donkey Kong's appearance, Cranky Kong wants to be young again.  So after talking to a hologram of his younger self, he concocts a youth potion to make himself younger so he can go after King K. Rool on his own.  Unfortunately he gets captured instead.  When Donkey Kong comes by his place to return a broken vacuum, he drinks the potion, believing it to be an ordinary beverage, and turn into an infant named Baby Kong.  Diddy Kong, whom Baby Kong followed to Donkey Kong's house, realizes what's happened and when Candy Kong comes by tells her that Baby Kong is Donkey Kong's nephew.  He goes to find Cranky, asking Candy to watch Baby Kong for him.  Cranky attempts to escape, but is caught.  When he is caught, the potion wears off, revealing his identity.  With Cranky as their prisoner again, they bring him and go to steal the Crystal Coconut.  Diddy arrives at Cranky's house in time to see this and, frightened, leaves.  Candy, having to go back to work, takes Baby Kong to Bluster's Barrel Works with her.  Cranky manages to send an astral hologram to Candy to look for Donkey Kong, and recognizes the similarities between Baby Kong and Donkey Kong before disappearing.  Baby Kong causes mass chaos in the factory as Diddy comes for him, hiding in a barrel on a conveyer belt and sent flying into the air.  Luckily he lands right in Cranky's house, grabbing the Crystal Coconut in the process.  When Diddy shows up, Baby Kong passes the Crystal Coconut to him and they make their escape to Donkey Kong's house.  Under the cover of barrels, General Klump and the kritters attack with klap traps, making Baby Kong and Diddy fall to the lower level.  K. Rool arrives and tries to  get the Crystal Coconut from Baby Kong, first through bribery, then playing around, and finally just yelling at him.  Finally, the potion wears off, Baby Kong turns back to Donkey Kong, and he's able to get rid of the enemy.  Once back at the lair, hoping to regain his fighting spirit, he drinks the youth potion he stole while at Cranky's.  Strangely enough, it strinks him instead of making him younger.

Trivia
*The two songs in this episode were "Cranky's Gonna Show Ya," sung by Cranky, and "Diddy To The Rescue," sung by Diddy.  This is the first episode where Diddy sings.
*Later, in the episode Baby Kong Blues, the character of Baby Kong appears again as Donkey Kong's actual nephew.  This conflicts with this episode, as Cranky said that Donkey Kong has no nephew.  Though, if the viewer must make sense of this, depending on the time between this episode and the later episode and whether or not Donkey Kong actually has a sibling, a Baby Kong could conceivably have been born and make the events possible.
*The ingredients for the youth potion were macaroni and cheese, jelly beans, cat's cradle, chocolate syrup, ground grass, dehydrated cookie batter, and powdered yo-yos.  It results in a bright red coloration and seems to have a slight thickness to it.

Younger Cranky Kong captured by the Kritters.

Ape Foo Young was the second episode of the Donkey Kong Country TV series that aired on the 9th of September, 1998. It was written by Nadine van der Velde.

Lyrics

Cranky's Gonna Show Ya
sung by Cranky

You say ya gotta be young to rock,
but Cranky's gonna show ya how to walk the walk.

I'll show ya moves that you never seen,
take ya to place ya never been.

I know you're thinking I'm much too old,
but when they made Cranky they broke the mold!

I'm gonna show ya, without a doubt! This old body will never give ou- EEEK!

Diddy To The Rescue
sung by Diddy

The time has come for me to help DK,
swing into action and finally save the day.
Everybody see what I can do,
cause it's Diddy to the rescue.

I can do most anything that Donkey Kong can do.
Ooh!
Don't take too much too.
Get me excited, get out of my way!
Cause Diddy's coming through!
