After a tedious journey through the rainy mountains, the snowy tundras and the dim-lit woods of Blackforest Plateau, [[Dixie Kong]] and [[Kiddy Kong]] finally reach a sunny, tropical region: the western banks of the Great Ape Lakes are covered with a dense jungle, that hosts many wildlife species. The Great Ape Lakes make up the fourth area in the Gameboy game Donkey Kong Land III. Located in the Northern Kremisphere, to the east of Blackforest Plateau and to the west of Tin Can Valley, they replace the isle of Mekanos from Donkey Kong Country 3 as the fourth world in the game. This area is ruled by the powerful robot KAOS, that is no longer the alleged leader of the Kremling Krew, but simply a weapon whose goal is to get rid of the Kongs before they can reach Baron K. Roolenstein's hideout in Tin Can Valley.
