T-O-Y Letters
Sprites of the three letters

Letters,[1] or Letter Blocks,[2] are collectibles that appear in Mario vs. Donkey Kong and its remake. They function similarly to the K-O-N-G Letters from the Donkey Kong Country series, but there is a total of three of them that spell out "TOY," and they appear only in the Mini-Mario levels that are before the boss fight of each world, replacing the presents from the other levels. However, they do not appear in any of the plus levels in the game, despite Mini-Marios appearing there. Only Mini-Marios are able to collect letters, as Mario himself simply passes through them. Each letter is worth 500 points, and when all three are collected in the level, the player is able to unlock the toy box to complete the level.
