Status: Will mostly visit occasionally to browse and sometimes edit wiki pages.
Infobox images
Our policy for infobox images is to use the most recent game artwork; excluding ones that are specialised for a certain game or series (even the Smash style falls under this). See Template:Character infobox for a better explaination on this. Nightwicked Bowser 19:31, February 28, 2023 (EST)
Reminder
Please stop changing artwork of infoboxes from subjects' latest artwork on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Please heed what Swallow said above. Mario JC 08:30, March 1, 2023 (EST)
Your edits
involve mostly your user space. Infact, a majority of your edits in the Mario Wiki are of the User namespace (42 in userspace, while a whopping twelve edits in the mainspace). Instead of editing your userpage, why not find time to look up some needy articles using Special:Random? Then, when you have reached a hearty amount of mainspace edits, you can edit your userpage. But don't edit your userpage multiple times in a short timespan... PnnyCrygr 09:19, May 23, 2023 (EDT) Um, ok, but it's my userpage, not yours....I will try to make more mainspace edits Luigi Liker(T|C) 07:07, May 30, 2023 (EDT)
RE: Sig
A "sig" page is a page where you can make your own custom signature and use that to sign when you post on talk pages. So User:Luigi Liker/sig would be yours, and whatever you put in that page is your signature. After you've created the page, go to your preferences, type {{User:Luigi Liker/sig}} in the "New signature" field, tick the "Treat signature as wikitext" checkbox, save, then whenever you sign by typing ~~~~, your custom signature is used. Make sure you read MarioWiki:Signatures and follow the rules there before making one. Mario JC 06:25, May 30, 2023 (EDT)
Plagiarism
I'm not sure why you asked if you're going to create the article anyway without approval, but please do not plagiarise from other websites like Wikipedia without attribution; that is grounds for a reminder or warning if it happens again. They should be written in your own words. Anyway, right now I'm not too familiar with WiiConnect24 to determine if it deserves an article or not but you can post a question on a relevant talk page like Talk:Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to get opinions from the community (or consider starting a proposal); and there's already a section on NSO on the Nintendo Switch page. RE: How Do I Contribute?
Have a look through MarioWiki:Maintenance, or some of the red links in the navigation templates and Special:WantedPages. It depends on your preference; if you feel open to contributing anything, try this, but if there's a specific game or subseries you want to contribute to and enjoy/know well, find things in that area like missing images and information that you can fill in. Melodic Gardens
Good start on Melodic Gardens; a few things from MarioWiki:Manual of Style to remember:
- Game titles like Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope should be italicised. The DLC pack name, though, is not.
- Avoid using the word "you". Use "the player" or the character's name instead.
- Any appropriate navigation templates and categories should be added at the bottom, as Sparks has done for you.
For images, "{{uncategorized}}" should be replaced with an image category link (with square brackets, not curly), in this case: [[Category:Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope images]]
and also remove any lines under "aboutfile" that you're not using, like "|5=Other versions (use file link)". Mario JC 10:11, June 29, 2023 (EDT)
Ok, I will make those changes. Luigi Liker(T|C) 13:18, June 29, 2023 (EDT)
File uploads
Hello, Luigi Liker. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below. {{aboutfile |1=Subject of the image |2=Where you found the image |3=Artist |4=Describe edits, if any |5=Other versions (use file link) }} Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
See my edit here. Also as explained in my previous message, the category link should be in square brackets with a "Category:" prefix and "images" at the end. Mario JC 08:28, October 10, 2023 (EDT)
