Flying Goal Poles appear in the levels The Great Goal Pole and Back to Hands-On Hall in Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. In The Great Goal Pole, when a player approaches it, wings appear on its bottom part, and it starts to fly away in a predetermined path. The Goal Pole can be grabbed at any time, and it generally flies slower than a player's dash speed around the middle of the level. When a player touches the Goal Pole, it stops flying, nearby Donut Blocks get removed, and a big Cloud Lift appears below for a player to stand on.
In Back to Hands-On Hall, the flying Goal Pole moves left and right at the top of the building at the end of the level.
