TPP | |||
Now that a proposal to split Ashley & Red has passed, I think it's worth considering splitting this one too.
I'll admit that this is a harder sell than Ashley and Red. Ashley, after all, sometimes appears in games without Red, but Cricket and Mantis seem to be a package deal. And while they are treated as fully separate characters in Get It Together! (unlike Kat & Ana or Dribble & Spitz), their abilities are clearly variations on one singular concept. I would completely understand why someone would want to keep this page merged. If it is split, the two separate articles would have a lot of overlapping information.
Nonetheless, the majority of my arguments for splitting Ashley & Red still apply here. As I said in that case, WarioWare: Get It Together! makes a distinction between character duos who function as duos (as in Kat & Ana) and character duos who function as separate characters (as in 9-Volt and 18-Volt), and Young Cricket and Master Mantis are placed in the latter category. Unambiguously, they are considered to be two separate characters, and I think it would make sense for this wiki to reflect that.

Shouldn't this be seperated into two different articles? -- Son of Suns
That's how I originally intended for it to be, but Parayoshi merged them together.-- Aipom --
- Barely anything is known about either of them… at all. Though the article name is kind of long so maybe we should just change it to "Young Cricket" and put the template from Firey Mario on it saying the correct title should be "Young Cricket and Master Mantis". I strongly think that is what we should do, agree? Para Yoshi Wahoo! 22:13, 7 February 2007 (EST)
- There is absolutely no reason to split these articles. Master Mantis does not have his own microgames. He does not even have a line. He is shown standing, walking, bowing and that's all we know. Para Yoshi Wahoo! 22:47, 7 February 2007 (EST)
There's still enough known about him that they should be split.-- Aipom --
- Write the article on the talk page and let's see how long it is. I don't mean to sound ticked, but I think my idea is the best at least for now until he appears in the next WarioWare game. Para Yoshi Wahoo! 20:24, 11 February 2007 (EST)
Yes your idea was pretty good at the time, but now that Wario Wiki has been cancelled and sort-of merged with this wiki, there will end up being alot of shorter articles. Anyways, we could talk about how they sound like, the people they hang out with, or other things they can be found doing.-- Aipom --
Wouldn't that make it fiction? the Wiki is for facts

Split
Template:SettledTPP Template:ProposalOutcome
I would like to split Young Cricket and Master Mantis up as they aren't even the same person, we got to keep consistency. Wikipedia doesn't have Batman and Robin as one article even though that title was officially used in comics, TV, and movies, Young Cricket and Master Mantis is not (in my personal opinion, the article name looks too long and awkward). Word to those possible opposers, they won't be stubs since they have all the information they are required and it's not to much to ask some Wario Ware fans to expand it creatively or any other way, like they both appear in several micro games and video clips, we can describe those easily. And plus, the Wario Ware series hasn't ended, sequels will be made and they'll most likely have an appearance in those games also.

- SWFlash (talk) Per proposal.
- Kaptain K. Rool (talk) - One sounds like a boss and one sounds like an enmy. Besides, the name is ridicoulously long.
- Arend (talk) They are a team, but they look different and have contrasting qualities - the one's young, long and a student, while the other's old, short and, like, a teacher.
Bowser's luma (talk) Per Zero. - Bop1996 (talk) Per Arend.
Oppose
- Magikrazy51 (talk) Unlike Batman and Robin, Yong Cricket and Master Mantis are never seen apart from ech other (other than 3 or less certain seconds).
- Mario4Ever (talk) Per Magikrazy51.
- UltraMario3000 (talk) Per the krazy Magikoopa.
- Marioguy1 (talk) - I think I also agree with Magikrazy51; Young Cricket and Master Mantis don't have separate appearances; from what I understand they are characters that (in Smooth Moves) are together and do something with dumplings; but they don't appear separately. Then when they reappear again, it is together. They never appear separate, so the articles would simply be a repeat of each other.
- Iggykoopa (talk) per marioguy1
- Reddragon19k (talk) Per all! This is a great proposal but, no split!
- Zero777 (talk) Per my personal policy in the Dibble and Spitz proposal.
- Mariomario64 (talk) Per Marioguy1
- Ultrahammer5365 (talk) These WarioWare character proposals are really starting to irritate me. If two characters are only seen as a duo, and have little individual information, then leave them together.
- Bowser's luma (talk) Per the Mario who is Ultra.
- Walkazo (talk) - Per all.
Comment
This is complicated, they do technically have different appearances; not always together, but I don't know if it's enough to warrant a split. Marioguy1 (talk)
I am Zero! @Magikrazy51: Your vote is invalid since there was a TPP that pass on splitting the two, but we forgot and did bigger projects, but I did edit the talk page so it will grab users' attention. Zero signing out. Zero777 (talk)
Really? I, Magikrazy51 (talk), thought it didn't pass due to nothing happening. I wasn't a user at that time. However, since Ashley and Red never were split, I still hold my vote. But I will change Ashley and Red to Dribble and Spitz. BTW, Kaptain, did u ever play WarioWare games or even READ THE ARTICLE? These guys are Wario's friends, not an enemy or boss.
@Magikrazy51: Well I'm thinking to split those articles also, so what will be your argument there? Zero777 (talk)
- Then I'll mention Kat and Ana. If the Dribble/Spitz and Kat/Ana start and this proposal succeeds, I'll support the split there, but my vote here still stands due to a lack of split on those pages. Magikrazy51 (talk)
- That's an incredibly bad argument. From that, I can tell your personality is you want everything there and now. But I'll start a split proposal on Dribble and Spitz now. Zero777 (talk)
- Well, I don't want to put too much on your shoulders, so forget Kat and Ana, they always seen all the time and they aren't fully developed. So like I said, if this proposal succeeds, I'll support your Dribble/Spitz split. Magikrazy51 (talk)
- YOUR LOGIC ISN'T MAKING SENSE AT ALL SINCE YOU'RE OPPOSING IN THE FIRST PLACE! Zero777 (talk)
- Okay, let me start over. I'm opposing this for my own reason that we don't have the other WarioWare pairs split. You just started a Dribble/Spitz split. So my vote on that proposal will depend on the outcome of this proposal. If this proposal succeeds, then the idea that every article like this should be split will come into place. Notice Bowser's luma's votes on Talk:Ultimate Chimera and my new proposal, Talk:Whispy Woods. So if this proposal succeeds, I'll support your split on Dribble and Spitz the same reason that Bowser's luma supported my Whispy Woods proposal. (Looks like you stopped using your catchphrase) Magikrazy51 (talk)
- What!? That is still illogical since why do you have to see the outcome of this one to decide your vote on the next similar one? Using a comparison with other articles is a weak point since something can be done to those articles to. Users vote on TPP's, what are you going to do, wait for the next supporter before you vote, no, YOU have to make the initiative right now. Zero777 (talk)
- But I, um...... Well, I have, um...... I HAVE NOTHING!!!! I GIVE UP!!!!! YOU WIN!!!! I can't think of any other reasons to oppose this. I'm deleting my vote. Magikrazy51 (talk)
- Wait! I have something! Magikrazy51 (talk)

@Marioguy1: I've seen Master Mantis without Young Cricket a few times in WarioWare D.I.Y. rend (talk) (edits)

- What about WarioWare, Inc. itself, in that game? Arend (talk)

Arend: If they appear separate then that's fine, but if they're both in the same area but the camera is focusing on one and not the other...that's a different matter. And don't compare us to other wikis; we aren't the muppet wiki. Marioguy1 (talk)
